To create and/or coach an LTA Youth Start course, you or your coach will need to be LTA Youth Start certified by participating in an online course provided to you via the LTA.
As this course will be linked to you or your coaches Coach Code, please ensure that this has been added into ClubSpark so that we pull through your certification in coaching an LTA Youth Start course.
Please Note: Courses will only show up to 70 days in advance.
Step 1: You'll first need to head to the Coaching Module within the admin area of your ClubSpark account. Here you'll need to click on the 'LTA Youth Start' programme.
Step 2: Once you've clicked on to the LTA Youth Start programme, you'll be taken to the following page:
If this is your first time using the LTA Youth Start programme, then you'll need to complete the checklist at the top of the page before you'll be able to proceed with creating your courses.
If you're checklist is incomplete, then please read the guides below to help finish your setup:
Step 3: Your next step is to create your LTA Youth Start course(s) and to do this, you'll need to click on the 'Create A New Course' button located on the right-hand side of the screen.
Step 4:
You'll then be taken to the next page where you'll need to enter your course details.
Please Note: LTA Youth Start has an age range of 4 - 11, the system will default this age when you first go to create your course but you will be able to edit this to smaller age groups between the ages of 4 and 11.
You'll also be able to turn on a Booking Window (shown in the image above) where you can apply time restrictions on when players can book onto the course.
You can also set the course capacity from 5 to 16 players.
Please Note: You will receive your coaching course resource pack on your 1st player booking, and on your 11th player booking if you have set your capacity to over 10.
You'll also be able to set your waitlist to either;
- Automatic - The next player on the LTA Youth Start shared waiting list who meets the age criteria of a course will be automatically invited to a course when a space becomes available. The parent/guardian will receive an email prompting them to accept or decline the invitation. If they decline or fail to respond within 48 hours, the next player in line will be invited onto a course. If they accept they will be directed to the checkout page where they will need to provide further details and payment.
or
- Manual - Coaches will need to select the player they wish to invite from the waiting list and who meets the age criteria of the course. The parent/guardian will receive an email prompting them to accept or decline the invitation. If they decline the place or fail to respond within 48 hours, the coach will be prompted to invite another player. If they accept they will be directed to the checkout page where they will need to provide further details and payment.
Step 4.1: In the next section of the course setup form, you'll be able to choose if you'd like to receive your coaching resource pack or not. This will only apply to the course you are currently creating.
Please Note: You will receive your coaching course resource pack on your 1st player booking, and on your 11th player booking if you have set your capacity to over 10.
If you've already ordered a recourse pack from a previous course, then a delivery address will be available to select instead of having to re-enter it. If you need the resource pack for the course your creating to be sent to a different location, then you can also enter a new delivery address.
Step 4.2: LTA Youth Start courses have pre-set prices which cannot be changed, the course will cost the parent/guardian £29.99 + £5.00 (P&P) per player. The price includes the LTA fee and the cost/delivery of the LTA Youth Start kit that each participant receives.
You'll be able to set if you'd like players to still be able to book onto the course even once it has started.
Step 4.3: In the last section of your course setup, you'll be able to set your session defaults. This is where you'll set who the coach will be (you'll need to ensure that they are certified to coach LTA Youth Start), the start time as well as the duration.
The session/class duration can be from 45 minutes to 60 minutes, going up in 5 minute increments.
Step 4.4: LTA Youth Start allows you to provide a follow on offer to help keep your players with their continuation of learning and player tennis once the course has finished.
LTA Youth Start allows you to provide an offer to help your players continue playing tennis once the course has finished. You can select your offer from the drop-down list.
Step 5: Once you've completed the course setup form, you'll need to click on the blue 'Save Course' button at the bottom of the page.
Step 6: Once you have clicked the 'Save Course' button, you'll then be re-directed back to the programme landing page where you'll be able to see your newly created LTA Youth Start course.
Your course will display publicly on your organisation's website as well as on the LTA's national campaign website for players to book onto.
