You may need to move members from one membership package to another, our new feature will help you do this. There are a few reasons why you may need to do this for example, when a junior becomes an adult member or if a member has joined the incorrect package.
Please note: If you are Moving members from a Family/Group membership package, you can only move the Main Contact to the Group Membership. You will need to add them to the membership record following our guide: Adding a Member to a Group Membership
Step 1: Go into the membership package where the members existing membership is held in the Membership module.
Step 2: Tick the checkbox next to the member(s) name. You can select more than one member to move.
Once you have your member(s) selected, click 'more' button (icon with 3 dots, shown in red below)
Step 3: Then from the dropdown list, choose 'Move members'.
Step 4: You should now be redirected to the move members page. You can check you have the correct selected members, by clicking 'Show details'
Step 5: Click in the box where it says 'Choose Membership...' under Membership package.
The Select membership package pop-up should appear, you can search for the member(s) new membership package OR select one of the packages from the list below the search bar.
In this example we will move a member from the Off-Peak Adult package to the Adult package.
Once you've chosen the membership package you are moving the members to, click 'Confirm'.
Step 6: The next option will allow you to delete their membership record from the existing package.
Please note: Similar to deleting a membership record, it is not possible to delete a membership record with an active status or one that has online payments made through GoCardless or Stripe. You can find more information on this from Step 5 in our Deleting a Membership Record guide.
Step 7: If you choose not to delete the membership record or are unable to delete this due to the reasons mentioned in Step 6. You can click the arrow to set the Status of existing membership to 'Keep existing status, Active, Lapsed or Cancelled'.
Please note: If you are moving a member and a grace period has been set, we would recommend to keep the existing status and to not change this to either lapsed or cancelled. The previous membership status will still lapse if not renewed.
Step 8: If you want to give the member(s) the renewal price in the new package they are moving to, tick this check box.
Step 9: The last option is to set the Status of new membership when moving the member over. By default this will be set to 'Pending' but you can also choose from 'Active, Lapsed or Cancelled'
Step 10: To complete the move to another membership package, click the 'Move member(s)' button
Step 11: Go to the membership module and select the membership package you chose to move the member(s) to. You should now see the member(s) in the new package.
