Changing a membership status is useful when circumstances of a membership or member change. For example, you may have a member who has joined an incorrect package. You can simply change the status of that member from 'Active' to 'Cancelled' and add them to the applicable package. See below what each status means.
We have split this article into 2 sections to help you easily find the relevant section:
There are four types of membership status':
- Active - Member has paid/renewed
- Pending - Currently awaiting the member to renew/pay
- Lapsed - Membership has expired
- Cancelled - Member has cancelled their membership
Please note: If a contact is in the system but doesn't have a membership associated with their account (past or present) they will show up as a 'Non Member'.
Changing a Individual Membership Status
Step 1: You can manually change the status of a members membership by going to the Membership module on the left hand side in the Admin area.
Step 2: Then choose the applicable membership record or by selecting 'View all members' and selecting the members' whose status you would like to change. Or you can find the package they are in and search for the membership record this way.
Step 3: Click on the member, and this will bring up their membership record.
Step 4: Use the status drop-down to change the member's status.
When on a membership record you can also amend the start and end date for this particular member. You can amend the core membership cost and add payments to the membership record. You can also tick the 'renewal' box for the member (this will give them the renewal price rather than the new member price that has been set).
Bulk Update Membership Status
We have a new feature that has been added where you can now update the status of the memberships in bulk.
Step 1: Head to the Membership module on the left hand side in the Admin area and locate the package.
Step 2: Tick the checkbox next to the member(s) name. You can select more than one member or bulk select all.
Step 3: Once you have your member(s) selected, click the 'more' button (icon with 3 dots). You will then have the option to chose 'Update membership status'.
Step 4: An overlay will appear where it will show the selected members and an option to choose the new membership status.
Once you are happy, you will need to tick 'I confirm that I want to update the status' and click on 'Update member(s) status'.
Step 5: Depending on what status you choose, the members will either stay in the active tab or move to the lapsed or cancelled tab. In this example, all the members selected have moved to the cancelled tab.
