GoCardless is a Direct Debit organisation and depending on what your club offers, you can purchase as a one off payment (pay in full) or via installments.
Please note: Clubspark uses two payment services providers to collect payments - GoCardless and Stripe. Both these payment providers are authorised by the UK Financial Conduct Authority. Clubspark does not hold any financial details in the product,

Purchase a Membership and Set up a Direct Debit
Step 1: On the Clubspark membership page - select the package you wish to purchase.
Step 2: If there is an option, click the payment option you want to by, either in full or by monthly installments.
The club or venue decide if a specific package can be paid for in full and/or payments by monthly installments. (This is why some packages may not have more than one option)
If the membership package has both options it will show as it does for the Adult 2024/25 example:
Step 3: Once you have selected a payment option or if there is no option. Click 'Join now':
Step 4: This will then redirect you to the first step in the check out process. Firstly, you will be taken to confirm the Purchaser details(not the members details).
The first section is auto filled by the system from the LTA account you have logged in with. (This is why this section is not editable)
Scroll down to the 'Purchaser's contact details', and fill in the billing address for the purchaser's card. (Any non optional fields need to be filled in)
Agree to the Membership Terms & Conditions and any of the clubs Privacy Policy or custom consents (if you are a new member)
Then go to 'Continue to member details'.
Step 5: On the member details page, you need to choose who the membership is for. If they are not listed already under your account, you can use the '+Add a new member' to add them.
Once you have selected the correct member (or members for a group package), click 'Continue to add-ons'.
Step 6: In the next page, depending if or what they have offered any add-ons to be purchased with a membership package. if the venue does not have any Add On's adding this stage will be skipped.
Choose the quantity of the product and click 'Add to Basket':
When you add to basket, you will notice a 'Product Added' notification and the add-on product will be added to the basket under 'Extras'. The total will also reflect this.
Please note: Under 'Extras', if you have added the incorrect amount you can either amend the quantity, or if you no longer want the add-on you can click 'Remove' (right hand side) .
Once you're happy with your add-on selection, click 'Continue to payment'.
Step 7: On the next page 'Review and Pay', the first thing you will notice is the Order summary. Please make sure you have selected the correct membership package and the correct member to receive this membership. An example of where to verify this information is shown below:
Please note: If it is the incorrect package you will need to go back to the memberships page and start again selecting the correct package.
If the member or add-ons are incorrect you can simply go back in the membership process to amend these.
Step 8: If the order Summary is correct, you can proceed to choosing how you want to pay. To pay via GoCardless, select the option highlighted in red, and then click 'Confirm'.
Step 9: You are taken to the GoCardless page. If you have opted to pay the full amount this will be a one off instant payment via Direct Debit, and would show as below:
Below this, you will enter in your personal details, and then click 'Continue'.
Step 10: Select the bank you are using to purchase the membership with. Use the search bar and select the matching bank below the search bar. NOTE: If you do not have access to your online banking details or you don't use online banking, or your bank is not recognized see : Q: I don't have access to my mobile banking app? which will provide the workaround steps.
Step 11: Once you select the bank, this will take you to the next page to enter in 'Your bank details'. Confirm the Account holder name, add the Sort code & Account number, and then click 'Set Up this direct debit'.
Step 12: If you are completing this on your phone and you have your bank app, it will automatically link to your app to confirm the payment.
If you are completing on a desk top, you can scan the QR code with your mobile phone or instead, you can do this via online banking, click the 'Continue on desktop' option, highlighted in red below.
The desk top will take you to your online banking on your computer. If you have set up the Direct Debit via Online Banking, you will see this success message for a short moment until it redirects you back to Clubspark.
Step 13: The Direct Debit is set up, and you will be redirected to the order confirmation page, with a summary of your purchase:
Troubleshooting:
Q: I don't have access to my mobile banking app?
A: GoCardless has added this step in to prevent fraudulent transactions. They are working closely with all banks to ensure this is in place. GoCardless states 95% of UK banks are using this authorization method.
However, there is a workaround if you don't have access to your online banking.
In Step 10 - where it says enter your bank - in this enter OTHER or CCCCC. This will then show the button Continue payment using Direct Debit.
From this page- you can enter your sort code and accounting number:
Q: My bank is not supported?
GoCardles are working with banks - all the banks that are supported are listed HERE If your bank is not listed, see above and follow the same instructions.
How do I opt out/opt in for auto-payment?
If you have set up and paid via GoCardless and your venue has enabled auto-payments, then you are auto-enrolled. This means that the next year, the venue will be able to collect your club membership subscriptions without you having to do anything. You will be contacted 30 days before the payment is collected, with an option to cancel. You can also cancel the autopayment at any time by following the steps below.
Step 1: In the venue page, log in and then click on your profile, or 'Your Account' if there are no other profiles under your account. This can be found by clicking your name on the top right of the screen.
Step 2: On the profile page, select 'Your memberships'.
Step 3: Here you will see your active memberships and for any membership's where you have previously paid via GoCardless, you will have the option to Opt out of auto-renewal. Select this button.
Please note: Upon opting-out your membership will continue until your membership end date. You will be able to opt back into auto-renewal at any time before your membership expires.
Step 4: On the next page you need to confirm that you wish to opt out of auto-renewal.
Once opted out - it will then show a confirmation message that your auto-renewal opt-out has been successful.
Step 5: To opt back in, go back to your Memberships page shown in Step 2, and you should now see the button has changed to 'Opt in to auto-renewal'.
The only difference is there is no confirmation when you opt in to auto-renewal. The button will change to 'Opt out of auto-renewal'
